The Secret Policeman's Ball is the name informally used for the long-running series of benefit shows staged initially in England to raise funds for the human rights organisation Amnesty International, many individual shows used variations on this name. The shows started in 1976 featuring popular British comedians but later included leading musicians and actors. The Secret Policeman's Ball shows are credited by many prominent entertainers with having galvanised them to become involved with Amnesty and other social and political causes in succeeding years. There have been four distinct eras of the Amnesty benefit shows. The shows of the first era (1976–1981) yielded films, television specials, home-videos, and albums that have since been widely seen and heard internationally. The three subsequent eras (1987–1989, 1991–2001 and 2006 onwards) have primarily featured locally popular British performers – and spin-off products have been released mainly in the UK.

Clapton é "GOD"? Não sei... Mas vamos analisar de outra forma. Clapton é um guitarrista talentoso... Todas as vertentes musicais o conhecem.

The ARMS Charity Concerts were a series of charitable rock concerts in support of Action into Research for Multiple Sclerosis in 1983. The first (and initially planned to be the only) event took place at the Royal Albert Hall on September 20, 1983, with subsequent dates occurring in the United States, with slightly different lineups of musicians. The idea for hosting the concert was envisaged by Ronnie Lane, ex-bassist for The Small Faces and The Faces, himself a casualty of multiple sclerosis. The concert was billed as The Ronnie Lane Appeal for ARMS and featured a star-studded line-up of British musicians, including Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Steve Winwood, Andy Fairweather Low, Bill Wyman, Kenney Jones and Charlie Watts. The concert was particularly notable in the fact that it was the first occasion on which Clapton, Beck and Page, each a former lead guitarist for The Yardbirds, had performed together on stage.

Although slide guitar compilations at times seem to proliferate like kudzu, this particular collection has much to recommend adding it to the collection. For openers, there's the inclusion of three previously unreleased live performances from Robert Nighthawk. Playing in a 1964 Chicago concert accompanied by Johnny Young on guitar and mandolin, and Little Walter on acoustic harmonica (a rarity), Nighthawk turns in stellar readings of Jimmy Rogers' "That's All Right" (a number he apparently never recorded anywhere else), Little Walter's "Everything's Gonna Be Alright" (set to a "Dust My Broom" arrangement), and his standard "Anna Lee," all in highly relaxed versions that add much to his meager discography. Other highlights include a track of Eddie Taylor making a rare appearance on slide with Nighthawk's "Jackson Town," four tracks by Big Joe Williams, two from Fred McDowell, a Johnny Littlejohn instrumental with Jimmy Rogers on rhythm guitar ("Slidin'"), and Homesick James guesting behind vocalist George Coleman on "Mad and Evil." Selections from David "Honeyboy" Edwards, Arthur Weston, Blind Connie Williams, John Henry Barbee, Elijah Brown and Johnny Shines complete this excellent collection.
It was early in the Thirties: after emerging from the piano-bars and honky-tonks of Texas, boogie woogie moved into rent parties in Harlem. The fashion had started. Passing jazzmen, converted bluesmen or authentic diehards, the aces of the keyboard here show all the richness of this powerful, obsessional genre that was the most African of piano jazz styles, an essential component of what became rock and roll.
Blues Anytime: An Anthology of British Blues is a series of compilation albums featuring tracks from various British blues artists. Three volumes were released by Immediate Records in 1968, followed by Blues Leftovers in 1969. The albums feature various tracks from such artists as John Mayall, Tony McPhee, Savoy Brown Blues Band, Jo Ann Kelly, Jeremy Spencer, Cyril Davies, Stuff Smith, Albert Lee, Dave Kelly and Rod Stewart and were also the first release of several exclusive tracks recorded for Immediate between 1965 and '67. These include recordings by Jimmy Page with Jeff Beck, Nicky Hopkins and the All-Stars,[1] plus several tracks recorded by Page and Eric Clapton, backed by members of The Rolling Stones (Bill Wyman, bass, Mick Jagger, harmonica and Ian Stewart, keyboard)[2] and the only recorded output by Santa Barbara Machine Head.
